Congratulations to André Costa Vinagre on successfully defending his Bachelor thesis in Mechanical Engineering at HEPIA, titled “Analyse CFD supersonique d’une capsule de rentrée atmosphérique.” André received the highest possible grade, 6/6, and earned the distinction “avec félicitations du jury.”
André completed his thesis research at California State University Long Beach under the supervision of Prof. Roberto Putzu and Prof. Ehsan Madadi, with his degree issued by HEPIA. His work focused on CFD modeling of supersonic atmospheric reentry capsule flows using OpenFOAM. His thesis investigated shock formation, stagnation pressure prediction, and mesh convergence for a Flush Air Data System probe operating at supersonic Mach numbers. Congratulations, André!
